SmashTour.com Contests Give Working Musicians Chance to Collaborate With George Clinton, DJ Battlecat

CLEVELAND, Dec. 20, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Two weeks remain in SmashTour.com 's Fan's Choice: Legends of Music contests. SmashTour.com LLC, a beta social and ecommerce platform for working musicians, in partnership with The Nason-Matthias Group, is currently running two contests for registered artist members, as well as a contest for music fans.

The Fan's Choice: Legends of Music contests have reached the final stretch and will end on Dec. 31, 2010. The contests are open to all SmashTour registered members. Membership on SmashTour is free for all fans, artists and bands.

SmashTour will recognize musicians who successfully promote and sell their own music by offering career-changing, collaborative opportunities. The solo-artist or band that achieves top sales through  SmashTour's Online Store  will have singer-songwriter George Clinton of Parliament-Funkadelic play on a selected track. A second winner will be recognized for the greatest fan loyalty through registered Fan Votes on SmashTour.com. The artist or band who receives the most Fan Votes will have renowned producer DJ Battlecat remix a selected track. Both musician-focused contests are made possible through SmashTour's partnership with The Nason-Matthias Group, an entertainment marketing group founded by Grammy Award winner and producer, Damien "E-Love" Matthias, and founder and co-creator of  GetGreenMusic.org, Mark Nason.

Six SmashTour fans will receive a free iPad, iPod, or other SmashTour perks, for supporting the musicians they love.
