NEW YORK, Nov. 4, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sophisticated Italian style slips into Bloomingdale's with the highly anticipated arrival of luxury linen purveyor Frette, Inc. Opened on October 12, 2010 the worldwide leader in luxury home linens unveiled its first roll out of four shop in shops in the following Bloomingdale's locations: New York, 59th Street, Chicago, Aventura and Boston. Frette offers distinctive styling for the home with its collection of elegant, handcrafted linens.

"We welcome the Italian luxury brand Frette as an important addition to our Home Floor. Frette's special heritage of fine quality linens provides our customers with the very best to enhance their homes," said Bloomingdale's Joe Laneve, SVP/GMM Home Furnishings.

The boutique features the Edmond Frette mix-and-match print bedding, a diffusion line launched last year to attract a younger customer with a more accessible price point. Edmond is comprised of 100% Egyptian cotton printed and solid bed components. It is a more relaxed, contemporary approach catering to a hipper customer who prefers a modern home environment with a contemporary twist. Prices are one-third of Frette with an average bedset around $500. Edmond is available in open stock.  The Bloomingdale's shop also offers bedding from Frette's Hotel collection.

The store's interior blends the heritage of the Frette brand, with a decidedly contemporary aesthetic. Edmond Frette designer Scott Formby's goal was to design an innovative stylish space without compromising the brand pedigree. Inspired by the South of Italy, La Dolce Vita and the famous Italian architect Carlo Mollino, Formby used his elegantly eclectic patterns to fill the fixtures. The colorful patterns inspire consumers to create their own world with prints and patterns to match their mood. The shop reflects the philosophy of the Edmond Frette brand--the mix of classic and modern in both color and line.   Classic Frette elements, including burgundy walls and library bookcases are offset by the deepest gray accents on the walls and zebra rugs on the floor.

"We are excited to partner with Bloomingdale's. Bloomingdale's has 14 to 15 doors that could accommodate Frette," said Filippo Arnaboldi, VP for Frette North America. "This gives us the possibility for markets where we currently don't have a Retail presence," said Arnaboldi. "Our couture Frette line is really what we're selling in our retail stores, but not everybody shops Madison Avenue. We anticipate the community will respond well to our products, and the pre-opening buzz about the brand has been strong."

Frette already has shop-in-shops in Bloomingdale's Dubai as well as Harrod's in London, Lane Crawford in Hong Kong, Printemps and Bon Marche in Paris.
